Arrow of Light (5th Grade)
Fifth graders work toward the Arrow of Light rank. If a fourth-grade Cub Scout has completed the Webelos rank, they may begin work on the Arrow of Light. The Arrow of Light rank is earned by completing the five requirements described below.
Den Meetings: 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month @ 6pm
Pack Meetings: Typically last Wednesday of the month @ 6pm
Arrow of Light Badge Requirements:
1. Be an active member of your Webelos den for at least six months since completing the fourth grade or for at least six months since becoming 10 years old.
2. Complete each of the four required adventures:
- Arrow of Light Bobcat
- Citizenship
- Duty to God
- First Aid
- Outdoor Adventure
- Personal Fitness
3. In addition to the four required adventures, complete at least two elective adventures of your den or family’s choosing.
4. With your parent, guardian, or other caring adult, complete the exercises in the pamphlet entitled How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide.
5. Watch the Protect Yourself Rules video for 5th Grade, Arrow of Light. (The video is located at https://vimeo.com/325064315 and can be watched on-line or downloaded and viewed off-line.) OR Earn the Protect Yourself Rules for Arrow of Light.
Arrow of Light Uniform
The Arrow of Light Cub Scout uniform has the following parts:
- Shirt: The official tan uniform shirt is available with long or short sleeves and has button-flap pockets.
- Pants: The official green shorts, long pants, skorts, and roll up pants.
- Belt: Official green web belt with BSA buckle.
- Socks: Official green socks are available in three lengths: ankle, crew, and knee. (optional)
- Hat: Official green hat with Scouts BSA emblem. (optional)
- Neckerchief: Orange triangular neckerchief with Tiger logo. Official BSA neckerchiefs are the only neckerchiefs that are part of the uniform. (Provided by Pack 652.)
- Neckerchief slide: Pack 652 has a pack-specific slide (provided by Pack 652), though Scouts can purchase a BSA den specific slide at the Scout store.
- Adventures Colors: The Webelos Colors is worn on the right sleeve to display the Arrow of Light Adventure Pins that have been earned.
- Loops: Official Cub Scouts blue loops are worn on the shoulders of the shirt.
